Currently accepting new clients for both in-person and online sessions

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC# 12494) and a member, in good standing, of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

I work with clients who feel alone and misunderstood by others. They are often anxious when interacting with people and may try to avoid social engagements due to their anxiety. Some have the sense that they must always perform at their best because others are judging them. While others carry a sense of guilt or shame for no particular reason.

I help my clients make sense of their experiences, uncover their innate strengths, and provide them with strategies to leverage their strengths so that they can experience a more fulfilling and meaning connection with the world around them.

My Approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy

Although I utilize a variety of techniques, I work primarily from a Cognitive-Behavioural model. This approach emphasizes the interconnection between thoughts, behaviours and emotions. I believe, however, that regardless of the techniques or theoretical orientation employed, establishing an authentic relationship is of paramount importance within a counselling setting. Moreover, I believe that it is important to honour my clients’ innate wisdom, and create an environment wherein my clients can feel safe, accepted, and understood. Specific therapeutic approached from which I draw include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness, Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).

Areas of Clinical Focus

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC# 18751) and a member, in good standing, of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Most of the time my clients arrive to therapy feeling alone. They are overwhelmed and don’t know how to cope. Typically, they have tried their very best to deal with their challenges, and sometimes they have tried to ignore their problems; however, a sense of “stuckness” still remains.

I facilitate coping in a truly collaborative manner, and help to bring my clients a sense of clarity, relief, and empowerment. I know that healing is rarely a linear journey. However, I help my clients to hold, unpack, and process the difficult experiences they may be having. I help them to understand that they don’t have to do this alone, and foster a sense of confidence within them so that they can leverage their newfound coping skills when encountering future challenges.
